Fractal Personalities

Fractal Personalities

The project consists of industrially woven jacquard designs by Stine Linnemann upholstered on padded frames. The project is based on the idea of inventing a computer program, that uses the mathematics of chaos theory and fractal geometry to generate textiles based on personal data. The idea is to take personal data from the customer, such as blood-type, DNA or similar, and apply it to the fractal geometry patterns. The designer's role would be to set boundaries for the computer program by choosing which yarns and colours to make the designs from, to ensure the aesthetics were pleasing to the human eye and sense of touch.
